A Complete Handbook of "FENG SHUI" Chapter-01

A Complete Handbook of "FENG SHUI"
READY RECKONER - Chapter-01
INTRODUCTION

Feng Shui is an art as well as a science. It is an art of living – the skill of arrangements and placements to strengthen vital balance and harmony and an ancient directional science of creating a congenial living environment. It is said to get its roots from China. But many people in India strongly believe that it’s a Chinese version of our ancient science called Vaastu.

It is said that there are two energies on this earth categorized as either Positive or Negative energy termed as “CHI.” The concept behind feng shui is to maintain the natural equilibrium of the two energies to ensure balance. These two energies are called YIN & YANG Energy. All the energies of earth can be classified into these two energies. They have their own attributes and their magnetic fields. They both are different, but cannot even exist without each other.

Yin represents darkness, night, moonlight earth, death, illness, rest, quiet, decrease, shade, female, water, winter, stillness, cold etc. Whereas, Yang represents life, heaven, summer, activity, sunlight, brightness, mountain, expression, strength, hardness, male, heat, motion, noise etc.

They both are different and create a way for each other. Their interaction gives existence to each other. After every night (yin) day follows (yang), darkness gives way to the bright light, summer ends and fades into the winter, death creates a space for another life and so on.
